Iverson, who is a fan of the New York fashion industry and has been described as a “fashion icon,” was asked during a recent interview with Esquire whether he had a preference for the way the “Iverson” he wears looks.
Iverson, a native of New Jersey, said that while he “wanted to be as good a person as he could be,” he was “definitely not into [fashion].”
When asked if he would wear anything from an old pair of jeans, Iverson said, “I really do.”
He added that he was also not into “people who look like they’re in prison” and that he has been known to dress up in his sneakers and wear his “Bag of Kool-Aid.”
Iverson said that he thinks “people don’t know the real Iverson,” and that while “he is a great person, I think that people don’t understand the true Iverson.
And that is what makes me so happy.”
Iggy Azalea has been in the spotlight recently for her relationship with Iverson and has not shied away from her own personal style choices, particularly with her recent album “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” and her fashion line, the Iggy Azala Collection.
On Tuesday, Iggy released her first-ever solo single titled “Fashion.”
Iggy and I were in the studio for the song, which she told the New Yorker, “had to be on my mind, because I was trying to be a good friend and I was looking at what she wears, what she looks like.”
I said, ‘You know, I like the way her looks.’
“Iggy said she was looking for inspiration for the track and was inspired by the Iverson “look” when she was listening to the song.
She added, “He has a real unique style, so I was just trying to get inspired by that.
And he does.
“Iverson is currently promoting his latest album, “Fancy,” which was released earlier this month.
Iggy’s new album also featured guest appearances from Miley Cyrus, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, and the “Shake It Off” songstress.
Iggy told Esquire that the collaboration with Miley is “the best experience of my life,” adding, “She’s just so beautiful and she is just such a natural.”
